Angela Huisingh has extensive experience defending employers in state and federal courts nationwide. Angela focuses her practice on class/collective actions and complex multi-jurisdictional employment litigation. Angela’s areas of concentration include wage and hour litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Illinois Minimum Wage Law, and Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act. In addition, as a member of Littler’s BIPA and GIPA Class Action Subgroup, Angela has been at the forefront defending class action claims under Illinois’ Genetic Information Privacy Act since the outset. Angela is positioned to assist clients as the body of law under GIPA develops based on her proven track record of setting employer-friendly precedent in her nationwide COVID-19 discrimination defense practice.
In addition to class action work, Angela’s career as a strategic litigator has spanned a broad spectrum of employment-related matters, from Title VII and the ADA to preliminary injunctions, non-compete litigation, and whistleblower claims. Regardless of the subject-matter, Angela brings her state and appellate court clerkship background to the table and helps to ensure the longevity of defense successes at every stage of litigation. Angela regularly practices in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Illinois Appellate Court. And, she effectively translates the breadth of her experience into value for her clients when providing advice and counsel. Prior to joining Littler, Angela worked as a litigation attorney for the Board of Education of the City of Chicago where she consistently obtained favorable results at trial and through dispositive motion practice.
