
Kaitlyn A. Hansen advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law issues and disputes before state and federal courts, arbitration panels, and administrative agencies. Balancing the needs of clients with the demands of litigation and other disputes, Katie leverages her experience to bring disputes to a successful conclusion with the least amount of disruption to her clients’ business operations. Katie represents employers across various industries in all aspects of claims arising under various employment and other statutes including, but not limited to:
- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act
- The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA)
- The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- The Family and Medical Leave Act
- The Equal Pay Act (EPA)
- The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- State antidiscrimination, leave, wage and hour, and whistleblower statutes
- State unemployment statutes
Katie regularly counsels clients to mitigate legal risk while balancing clients’ business interests. Katie provides advice regarding a broad range of legal issues including, but not limited to hiring, performance management, improving employee experience, discrimination and harassment matters, leaves of absence and disability accommodations, internal workplace investigations, compliance with wage and hour laws, pay equity concerns, reductions in force, and other issues surrounding ending employment relationships.
Katie is a member of Littler’s Staffing, Independent Contractors and Contingent Workers Practice Group, as well as its Wage and Hour Practice Group. She advises clients on employee classification issues, as well as on leveraging contingent workforce solutions. Katie conducts audits to assess and mitigate contingent workforce and employee classification risks, and she also regularly litigates misclassification cases.
Before joining Littler, Katie clerked for former Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Diane K. Vescovo and U.S. District Judge Thomas L. Parker in the Western District of Tennessee.
